CIS Christmas House Day 2018 - The stolen Christmas

CIS Christmas House Day 2018 - The stolen Christmas

On Tuesday, December 4th, 2018, students from all Houses (Phoenix, Kraken, Hydra, and Cerberus) participated in the second House Day of the 2018-19 school year, the Christmas House Day. Since Christmas is right around the corner and the new Grinch movie just came out, the House Council decided to put a little “Grinchy” twist on this Christmas House Day.

The day kicked off with a little assembly which at first was very happy and light-hearted, but then the Grinch suddenly appeared on the screen to make an announcement. The Grinch had stolen Christmas from Santa Claus and in order to steal it back, the students had to complete a series of 7 activities and find “pieces” of Christmas that the had Grinch stolen. The 12 Small Houses (each House is broken into 3 smaller sub-Houses for House Days), each also needed to find puzzle pieces along the way, that when combined with the other puzzle pieces from their House’s “Small Houses”, would complete a big image of the Grinch. The students were really pumped from the unexpected twist in the assembly and they all started and finished the day with a lot of energy. The results were really close and there were some big changes in the overall standings, but the race for the House Cup is still on so good luck to all four Houses as we enter the 2019 portion of this school year!
