The mission of the CISS Choir is to provide an affirming and caring atmosphere that fosters self-esteem and personal growth. The choir seeks to create an enriching musical and social experience that gives its members a lasting, joyful appreciation of music and of the community.
Who can join?
All students in Grade 4 (age 9) and up who are willing and able to commit to the choir are welcome. For boys, only boys with unchanged treble voices will be considered. As an extracurricular activity, the choir requires time spent outside of school hours and a firm commitment.
As a program of the Canadian International School System, the members of the CISS Choir will enjoy all of the rights and responsibilities that come with being a student of CISS.
Community social responsibility CISS choir
As outreach to the community and to give other children an enriched musical opportunity through the CISS Choir; and to give our CISS students an experience of sharing what they have with the larger community of Ho Chi Minh City, several places in the CISS Choir are reserved for students from a local orphanage and students from a local school for the blind. We are very happy to have these children join with us to make our collective musical choral experience all the more uplifting, gratifying and joyful.
