Certificate of Education Advanced LEvel
‘Advanced’ or A-Levels are two-year courses taken in grades 11-12. As Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) courses they are widely recognised by universities internationally as high-quality qualifications. A-Levels provides a solid foundation for students entering university and are often seen as equivalent to the first year of university study.
Students are normally required to study 4 subjects at AS (advanced subsidiary) level in the first year, reducing the number of subjects to 3 in the second year at A2 level. The program is extremely flexible allowing students to focus on the areas that interest them.
The depth of detail that students are able to study gives them a bigger advantage when going to university. They become adaptive and in-depth independent learning, which is critical to success in their future academic studies. BCIS will be offering a range of subjects, so that students will be able to choose the combination that best suits and delivers their needs

Computer Science is highly valued among universities, as technology is fast developing. They need students that can adapt to this and handle possibly more difficult tasks that other students may not be able to do. Pairing Computer Science with Maths and Physics shows logical thinking. Computer Science, Physics, and Maths help gain entrance to prestigious courses. Students with these A-Levels tend to get onto courses like Astrophysics, Computer Science, and many more advanced professions.
This combination of A-Levels is different in that Math is replaced by Chemistry. This can be useful for those who are interested in pursuing a science course at university.
Combination of 3 subjects for students who are pursuing a graphic design or the effects of the game industry. This is a combination of logic and creativity, developing students to put their passions into practice.
This combination of A-Levels can be great for those who want to go into Accounting, Economics, or any other related university course. Business Studies and Economics are both great A-Levels to take to improve knowledge of the working world. Maths is a facilitating subject and makes it easier for students to get into top universities. Students who take these A-Levels generally go on to study some form of Economics or Business-related degree.
All three of these A-Levels are facilitating subjects. These A-levels are the ones universities specifically look for when considering students, and so enable admission. Chemistry and Biology go well together because they’re both sciences and have links between their content.
