WELLBEING PROGRAM

The Wellbeing Program at BCIS comprises of lessons and activities that improve awareness and identity, develop talents and potential, and contribute to the realization of personal aspirations. It aims to provide the tools and knowledge that will enable all members of the school community to:

  • Promote the social and emotional development and wellbeing of students
  • Nurture student responsibility and resilience
  • Build a positive school culture
  • Foster respectful relationships
  • Respond to key contemporary issues and topics that impact on student wellbeing

We strive for a school wide approach to each student’s education where value is placed upon the growth and development of the spiritual, emotional, social, physical and academic domains. Experiencing positive relationships, gaining autonomy and creating a sense of purpose are each important components of wellbeing. The aim of our well-being program is to create teaching and learning environments that enable students to be healthy, happy, engaged and successful. This will be achieved through school initiatives that offer a well-balanced physical activity program which includes clubs that meet students’ needs, interests and talents, a daily mindfulness program, peer mediation group, and community charity activities.
The priority of the program with the support of our school guidance counselor and wellness director is to ensure the well-being of students and staff in a safe, supportive environment for teaching, learning and working.

LIBRARY

“Together we can cultivate a strong reading culture in both Vietnamese and English!”

BCIS Library with a modern, creative space will inspire and increase students study ability. We have 19.000 books in various topics and many support services to help every student, staff and parents.
At BCIS, the Library will:

  • Be a safe and inviting place that provides students with independence to choose their own reading, find suitable skills, values and find effective resources to develop their interests and strengths at their own pace.
  • Provides students with the opportunity to learn about themselves, improve their motivation for reading and gain more useful knowledge through reading.

This year, we started to “green up and clean up” our space with plants, and making it more inviting with a few added touches sparking curiosity and interest.
