Waterloo Math Contest is Waiting for You Ahead!!!
The Canadian International School is again hosting the series of University of Waterloo Math Contests. Situated in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, this university has been in the forefront of Mathematics Research and Education and have been promoting the enjoyment and study of Mathematics since its inception in 1967. We invite your students to write these contests and become one of the global participants of 78 countries and 235,000 students.
These contests offer interesting and sometimes unusual questions and a good score can be included on a student’s academic resume. Experience at the junior levels makes the Euclid contest more accessible and it is from Euclid results that full scholarships to University of Waterloo are awarded. Personal encouragement form their math teacher is by far the greatest predictor of student participation in these contests. We hope that the accompanying flyer and information generates some interest and talking points for your teachers and students.
The first two contests, the Canadian Intermediate (Gr. 9-10) and Senior (Gr. 11- 12) Mathematics Contests (November 24, 2016 at CIS Campus - Road 23, Tan Phu Ward, Dist 7, HCMC ) are described below. Motivated students in lower grades are also encouraged to write these contests.
- 9 questions; 6 are answer and 3 are full response.
- 2 hours, 60 marks, almost all calculators are permitted.
